Fatal Crash on Walden St in Concord, MA; Victims ID'd

July 29, 2026

Concord, MA (July 29, 2026) – This article follows up in a story we covered earlier. You can read the original report here.

Two people died on Saturday afternoon, July 25, following a two-vehicle wreck on Walden Street near Bristers Hill Road, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office. Emergency units were called to the road around 1 p.m. where they found two heavily damaged vehicles and five people injured.

Two of them were flown by helicopter to regional trauma centers, one was taken by ambulance to a trauma center, and two others were brought to local hospitals.

The two people who died have been identified as John Hamilton, 82, and Paula Hamilton, 85, both of Concord. The couple had been riding in a Tesla Model 3 and were taken to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, where they later lost their lives.

The preliminary investigation states that a Honda Accord driven by a 25-year-old Wilmington man was traveling in the opposite direction when it crossed the double yellow line and struck the Tesla head-on. The Honda driver remains hospitalized.

Two 28-year-old passengers from Tacoma, Washington, who were also riding in the Tesla, were hurt, though their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The investigation into this accident remains ongoing.

Our condolences go out to the Hamilton family during this difficult time.

How Long Do Families Have to File a Wrongful Death Claim in Concord, MA?

Massachusetts law generally gives a deceased person's estate three years from the date of death to bring a wrongful death claim. The claim must be filed by the estate's personal representative, not by individual family members on their own behalf.

Families dealing with the loss of a loved one usually face more than grief. There are practical burdens too, including funeral and burial costs, lost income the deceased would have provided, and the emotional toll on surviving spouses, children, or parents. These consequences can extend well beyond the three-year filing period itself.

In these cases, a Massachusetts wrongful death lawyer can help a family understand this deadline, assist with petitioning the probate court to appoint a personal representative, and gather evidence such as vehicle data and witness accounts before it becomes harder to obtain. An attorney can also explain what types of compensation may be available under Massachusetts wrongful death law, including funeral expenses and loss of companionship.

At Fiorentino Legal, P.C., we know that legal deadlines are typically the last thing on a grieving family's mind. We are here to help families walk through the legal journey while fully understanding their options.
