One Injured in Crash Involving CCRTA Bus on Rte 6A in Sandwich, MA

July 29, 2026

Sandwich, MA (July 29, 2026) – One person was taken to Cape Cod Hospital after a car and a Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority bus collided at the intersection of Route 6A and Tupper Road.

The Sandwich Fire and emergency units were called to the intersection following the report of the collision. The severity of the injuries was not disclosed.

The cause of the wreck remains under review.

We wish the person hurt in this collision a smooth and full recovery.

Rules for Claims That Involve CCRTA Buses in Sandwich, MA

Because the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority is a public entity, a claim stemming from a case like this generally falls under the Massachusetts Tort Claims Act rather than standard personal injury rules. That law typically requires a written presentment to the transit authority within two years of the date of the accident before any lawsuit can move forward.

Claims against a public transit authority come with damage caps and other procedural rules, so early legal guidance can help clarify what options may exist.

A Massachusetts bus accident lawyer can help make sure a presentment is filed correctly and on time, since missing this step can bar a claim against a public entity entirely. They can also gather evidence such as bus camera footage and maintenance records before it is no longer available.

People hurt in car-versus-bus wrecks usually deal with whiplash, fractures, or other soft-tissue injuries that can take weeks or months to resolve. Medical care, missed work, and vehicle repairs can add up quickly, even when injuries are not considered severe at first. Some injuries from this kind of impact are not fully apparent until days later.

It is not easy to deal with recovery and the legal burden. At Fiorentino Legal, P.C., we are available to help anyone facing the legal aftermath of a vehicle accident. We can evaluate your case and walk you through the options that may be open for you.
