Framingham, MA (September 15, 2026) – A 30-year-old woman died early Saturday, September 12, after being struck by a Honda CR-V on Worcester Road.
The Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office said the wreck happened around 12:30 a.m. The SUV was traveling east when it struck her.
The woman was taken to MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, where she later died. The driver stayed at the scene following the crash. Details about what led up to the collision have not been released.
The Middlesex County District Attorney's Office, Framingham police, and Massachusetts State Police crash reconstruction specialists are investigating.
We extend our sincere condolences to the woman’s family and loved ones.
Massachusetts allows a personal representative of a deceased person's estate to bring a wrongful death claim on behalf of surviving family members when a pedestrian is killed by a negligent driver.
These claims can address the financial impact of the loss, including lost income the person would have earned and the loss of their companionship and guidance. A separate survival action may also allow the estate to pursue damages for any pain the person experienced between the crash and their death.
When multiple agencies, including state crash reconstruction specialists, are involved in an investigation, it typically means the findings will carry significant weight in determining what happened. Families sometimes wait weeks or months for these findings to be finalized.
Massachusetts generally requires a wrongful death claim to be filed within three years of the date of death, though certain circumstances can affect this timeline.
Given how long a multi-agency investigation can take, families are usually encouraged to consult with a wrongful death lawyer early, even before a final report is released, so evidence isn't lost and deadlines aren't missed.
