How Long Do I Have to File a Car Accident Claim in Webster, MA?

In Massachusetts, the deadline to file a lawsuit related to a car accident is generally three years from the date of the crash. However, certain circumstances can affect that timeline, and if you wait too long, it may make it more difficult to preserve evidence or protect a potential claim.

After a motor vehicle crash, injured people frequently focus first on medical treatment and vehicle repairs. While those concerns are understandable, documentation collected in the days and weeks after a collision can become valuable later. Medical records, photographs, witness information, and repair estimates may help establish what happened and the losses that resulted.

After a car accident, victims tend to be unsure about how to handle the legal journey. A car accident attorney can review the facts of a case, evaluate possible next steps and explain deadlines may apply. Insurance usually moves fast to gather information after a car accident. Legal guidance can help identify insurance requirements and evaluate available evidence.
