Box Truck, Tractor-Trailer Crash Closes I-90 in Palmer, MA

Palmer, MA (September 1, 2026) – A box truck and tractor-trailer collided on I-90 westbound on Tuesday morning, September 1, closing part of the highway and leaving one person injured.

The Massachusetts State Police and emergency units responded to the highway near mile marker 63 around 9:30 a.m. after the two commercial vehicles came together on the turnpike. One occupant was found trapped and hurt inside a vehicle. The extent of the injuries was not released.

The left lane of I-90 westbound was closed while crews worked to clear the roadway, and traffic was diverted along Route 20 and Route 84 during the closure.

The highway reopened by 10 a.m. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
