Brockton, MA – Trooper and Driver Injured in Crash on Rte 24

The Massachusetts State Police communicated that the trooper had stopped along the roadway to assist with an earlier crash. While positioned on the shoulder, a sport utility vehicle traveling southbound struck the cruiser from behind.

Both the trooper and the driver of the SUV suffered injuries in the collision. Paramedics evaluated them at the scene and transported both individuals to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Video from the scene showed the damaged SUV and the police cruiser being removed on a flatbed tow truck. Officials have not released additional details about the events leading up to the crash.
