April 3, 2026
Brockton, MA (April 3, 2026)
– A Massachusetts State Police trooper and another driver were hurt in a crash early Friday, April 3, on Route 24 in Brockton. Emergency units responded to the southbound side of the highway just before 5:00 a.m. after reports of a vehicle striking a police cruiser.
The Massachusetts State Police
communicated that the trooper had stopped along the roadway to assist with an earlier crash. While positioned on the shoulder, a sport utility vehicle traveling southbound struck the cruiser from behind.
Both the trooper and the driver of the SUV suffered injuries in the collision. Paramedics evaluated them at the scene and transported both individuals to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Video from the scene showed the damaged SUV and the police cruiser being removed on a flatbed tow truck. Officials have not released additional details about the events leading up to the crash.
Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Our thoughts are with those injured, and we wish them a steady recovery.
What Evidence To Collect After a Crash in Massachusetts
After a crash in Massachusetts, it is important to collect key evidence such as photos, contact details, and official reports. This information helps document the accident and can support insurance claims later. Crashes often happen quickly, especially on busy highways where vehicles travel at higher speeds.
Photos taken at the scene can capture vehicle positions, damage, and road conditions. People may also exchange names, phone numbers, and insurance information with others involved. Witness statements can add helpful details, especially when multiple vehicles or sudden impacts are involved.
Injury accidents can lead to a wide range of physical effects. Some people feel pain right away, while others may notice symptoms hours later. Medical records help connect injuries to the crash and provide a timeline for treatment and recovery.
An experienced car accident lawyer
can review the evidence collected after a collision, along with medical and insurance records. This review may help explain how claims work and what types of compensation could be available depending on the situation. Legal guidance can also help organize documents and clarify what information may be important moving forward.
