Springfield, MA (September 28, 2026) – A car crashed through the glass façade of Tower Square on Monday morning, September 28, after a two-car crash on Main Street in downtown Springfield.
The crash occurred near Main Street and Bridge Street around 6:20 a.m. After the vehicles collided, one of them struck the office building and broke through its glass exterior. Emergency crews rushed to assist those injured.
Fire officials said the building did not sustain major structural damage.
The crash is still being investigated.
We hope those affected by the wreck receive the care they need and recover fully.
A crash that damages a vehicle and a commercial building can create several types of property losses. Insurance coverage may depend on the policies involved, who owned the damaged property, and the circumstances that led to the collision.
The damage to the building may require its own documentation. Photographs of the broken glass and affected façade, repair estimates, invoices, and records from the building owner or property manager can help establish the cost of restoring the property.
Vehicle damage should be documented separately. Photos, repair estimates, towing records, and other vehicle-related expenses can provide information about the losses associated with the two-car crash.
Because one vehicle struck the building after the initial collision, the sequence of events may also be relevant when insurance companies review the claims. Information about the first crash and the subsequent movement of the vehicle may help establish how the property damage occurred.
Insurance coverage can involve different policies depending on the vehicles and property affected. Keeping policy information, claim correspondence, repair documents, and photographs together can help provide a clearer record when coverage is reviewed.
Businesses or property owners may also have expenses beyond the physical repair itself. Temporary measures, cleanup, replacement materials, or other costs connected to restoring the affected portion of the building may need to be documented.
Witness accounts and available video may provide additional information about the crash. Footage from nearby businesses, traffic cameras, or other sources could help clarify the sequence of events if available.
