Crash Leaves Pedestrian Seriously Hurt on Lincoln Ave in Saugus, MA

July 30, 2026

Saugus, MA (July 30, 2026) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after a vehicle struck him on Lincoln Avenue near Laurel Street in Saugus on Thursday, July 30. The crash occurred around 5:21 p.m. and involved a black Mercedes and a GMC pickup truck.

Initial reports indicated that two pedestrians had been struck. However, the first officer at the site confirmed that only one pedestrian was injured.

Emergency units arrived shortly afterward and found one pedestrian with a serious head injury and heavy bleeding. An ambulance and additional officers arrived to assist the injured person.

The Mercedes driver remained at the site, but initial information did not confirm which vehicle struck the pedestrian.

Crews requested that Lincoln Avenue be closed at the Revere line near Salem Street and in Cliftondale. The pedestrian’s name, age, and updated medical status have not been released.

Local authorities continue to investigate what caused the crash.

Our thoughts are with the injured pedestrian during recovery.

Why Are Head Injuries So Serious After a Crash in Saugus, MA?

Head injuries after a crash in Saugus can be serious because they may affect memory, movement, concentration, speech, and sleep. Some symptoms appear immediately, while others develop later. Prompt medical care can help identify the injury and guide treatment.

Even after an initial evaluation, symptoms may change or become more noticeable. Headaches, dizziness, confusion, nausea, vision problems, and unusual tiredness may follow a brain injury. You should discuss any new or worsening symptoms with a healthcare provider.

Along Lincoln Avenue and other busy Saugus roads, pedestrians travel close to moving vehicles. A collision may cause a person’s head to strike the vehicle or pavement. The force can lead to significant injuries and lasting medical concerns.

During recovery, doctors may recommend imaging, medication, observation, or follow-up appointments. Some injured people may also require therapy or specialist care. Following the recommended treatment plan can help track symptoms and support recovery.

As treatment continues, keep copies of medical bills, test results, treatment records, and insurance letters. Notes about symptoms, missed work, and daily limitations may also help document the injury. These records can show how the crash has affected your daily life.

When insurance disputes arise, a Massachusetts pedestrian accident lawyer can review the evidence and identify the policies that may apply. An attorney can also challenge unfair fault claims and communicate with insurers while you focus on your recovery.
