E-Motorcycle Rider Hurt in Crash on Wahconah St in Pittsfield, MA

Pittsfield, MA (August 19, 2026) – A 22-year-old Pittsfield man was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon, August 18, after the electric motorcycle he was riding collided with an SUV on Wahconah Street.

Pittsfield Police said the rider was traveling south on Wahconah Street and attempted to cross the northbound lane when he was struck by a 2014 Honda CR-V heading north. The crash happened around 2:55 p.m. in the 400 block of Wahconah Street.

Officers found the rider lying in the northbound lane with injuries, and he was taken to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Honda was not hurt.

Wahconah Street was closed for about four hours between Wilson Street and Bel Air Avenue while crews worked to clear the scene. The road reopened around 7 p.m.

The Pittsfield Police Traffic Unit continues to examine how the accident unfolded.
