Framingham, MA (September 8, 2026) – Four people were hurt on Sunday night, September 6, when two vehicles collided in a rear-end crash on Worcester Road.
The collision happened around 8:25 p.m. near 1063 Worcester Road, according to Framingham police. One person was flown by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital, while three others were taken by ambulance to a nearby medical center.
The full sequence of events that led to the collision is not yet clear. Authorities continue to investigate.
We're keeping all four injured in our thoughts as they recover.
Rear-end collisions carry a legal presumption in Massachusetts that the trailing driver is at fault, based on the general expectation that drivers maintain a safe following distance and enough space to stop safely.
However, that presumption isn't absolute and can be challenged with evidence that shows the lead driver made an unsafe or sudden stop, had malfunctioning brake lights, or otherwise contributed to the crash. To establish exactly how the accident unfolded, evidence such as police reports, vehicle damage patterns, and any available surveillance or dash camera footage from the area is used.
When multiple people are hurt in one accident, it is common to question how fault and available insurance coverage get divided among multiple injured parties. In these cases, it is important to know that Massachusetts requires drivers to carry personal injury protection (PIP) coverage, which pays initial medical bills regardless of fault.
Still, when injuries or costs exceed what PIP covers, understanding how the at-fault presumption applies becomes especially important for pursuing additional compensation.
A car accident lawyer can help multiple injured passengers and drivers sort out how each person's medical bills and lost wages are covered.
