Hit-and-Run Driver Leaves Pedestrian Critical on Warren St in Boston, MA

June 30, 2026

Boston, MA (June 30, 2026) – A pedestrian was left in critical condition Sunday night, June 28, after a hit-and-run driver struck them at the intersection of Holborn Street and Warren Street in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston.

The pedestrian was found with serious injuries and was rushed to Boston Medical Center, where they remained in critical condition. A preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle did not stop and continued from the scene following the collision. No arrests had been announced at the time of this report.

The Boston Police Department is actively searching for the driver involved in the wreck.

We hope the pedestrian receives the best possible care and makes a full recovery.

What Legal Options Are Available After a Pedestrian Hit-and-Run in Boston, MA?

After a hit-and-run crash in Boston, significant legal options may be available even before the at-fault driver is identified, and understanding those options early can provide important support for both the victim and their family during an already devastating time.

Massachusetts law allows those hurt in hit-and-run crashes to pursue compensation through uninsured motorist coverage, which is specifically designed to address situations where a driver flees the scene and cannot be immediately identified. This means that a claim can begin moving forward through the victim's own insurance policy or a household member's policy, rather than waiting indefinitely for an arrest to be made.

When injuries are as severe as critical conditions, the financial stakes involved in pursuing full compensation become especially significant. Emergency care, intensive hospitalization, potential surgeries, and extended rehabilitation are among the costs that can accumulate rapidly, and the long-term consequences of serious injuries sustained in a high-impact pedestrian collision may not be fully understood for months.

This makes it especially important to avoid settling any claim before the complete scope of medical needs and future consequences is clearly established, even when immediate financial pressures may make early resolution seem appealing.

If the at-fault driver is ultimately identified, the legal options available expand significantly to include a direct liability claim against that driver and their insurance coverage. A Massachusetts pedestrian accident lawyer may be able to help the victim or their family file a claim under available uninsured motorist coverage while the investigation continues, monitor police updates for information that may identify the responsible driver, and ensure that any resolution reached reflects the full and lasting scope of the injuries sustained.
