Injuries Reported in Vehicle Crash in Milford, MA

August 30, 2026

Milford, MA (August 30, 2026) – Milford Fire Department crews, paramedics, and local police officers were called on Saturday morning, August 29, to a two-vehicle collision on Cedar Street.

Emergency medical personnel evaluated those involved at the scene and provided care for reported injuries.

The Milford Police Department is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the wreck as they work to recover.

How Are Airbag Deployment Injuries Evaluated Under Massachusetts Personal Injury Law?

While airbags are essential safety devices designed to prevent fatal impacts, their rapid, high-force deployment in a motor vehicle collision often causes serious secondary physical injuries to drivers and passengers.

When an airbag deploys during an impact, occupants can suffer severe facial lacerations, neck and cervical strain, eye trauma, chemical burns from propellant gases, or fractures to the hands, wrists, and ribs. Documenting these specific trauma patterns immediately through emergency clinical evaluation is critical, as it directly connects the physical harm sustained to the violent mechanics of the collision.

Establishing financial liability following a crash involving airbag deployment requires proving that the opposing driver’s negligence created the impact that triggered the safety system. Responding police officers document physical vehicle damage, crushed impact zones, and final stopping positions in the official crash report.

In complex cases, crash reconstruction specialists analyze this structural damage alongside vehicle event data recorder (EDR) information to determine impact speed and exact collision dynamics.

Pursuing financial compensation for severe injuries allows victims to recover damages beyond initial Personal Injury Protection (PIP) limits under Massachusetts law. Third-party liability claims are evaluated under Massachusetts' modified comparative fault rule, which allows recovery of damages provided your share of fault does not exceed 50 percent. Victims have a strict three-year statute of limitations from the date of the crash to initiate a personal injury lawsuit.
