Man Airlifted After Apartment Fire on Andover St in Tewksbury, MA

Tewksbury, MA (August 11, 2026) – A man was airlifted to a Boston-area hospital on Monday morning, August 10, after a fire broke out in his apartment on Andover Street. The Tewksbury Fire and emergency units responded to the building after smoke was reported inside.

A sprinkler system activated and contained the fire to the unit where it started, according to Tewksbury Fire. Firefighters located the resident inside and removed him from the building before he was first taken to a local hospital, then flown to a Boston-area facility for further treatment.
