One Dead After Two-Vehicle Crash on Pond St in Natick, MA

September 15, 2026

Natick, MA (September 15, 2026) – A woman died on Tuesday, September 15, after a two-vehicle wreck on Pond Street near Cemetery Street.

According to Natick Police, she was a passenger in a vehicle traveling westbound when it collided with another car. She was taken to MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, where she was pronounced dead.

The man driving the vehicle she was riding in was taken to a Boston hospital for undisclosed injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was not hurt.

The Massachusetts State Police Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Unit responded to assist with the investigation.

We extend our sincere condolences to the woman's family and loved ones.

What Happens When a Reconstruction Unit Investigates a Fatal Crash in Natick, MA?

When a specialized unit like the Massachusetts State Police Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Unit gets involved, it typically signals that a fatal crash requires a more detailed technical review than a standard police report provides.

These investigations usually include measurements of vehicle positions, analysis of skid marks or lack thereof, and review of any available vehicle data recorders to determine speed and braking at the time of impact. This level of detail can take significantly longer than a routine crash report, sometimes stretching the investigation out for weeks or months.

For families pursuing a wrongful death claim in Massachusetts, a reconstruction investigation can end up being one of the most important pieces of evidence available. Massachusetts law allows a personal representative of the deceased's estate to bring a wrongful death claim on behalf of surviving family members, and detailed findings about how a crash happened can directly support that claim.

These investigations take time, so families are usually left waiting for answers before a civil claim can fully move forward, even though Massachusetts imposes its own filing deadlines separate from any criminal proceedings.

It can be difficult to coordinate with investigators and understand what a reconstruction report ultimately shows without legal guidance. A wrongful death lawyer can help families track the investigation's progress and make sure a wrongful death claim is prepared and ready once findings are released.
