Fairhaven, MA (September 11, 2026) – One woman was injured on Friday morning, September 11, after two pickup trucks collided at Bridge Street and Mill Road.

The collision occurred around 7:21 a.m. and involved a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2024 Ford Ranger. One female driver was taken to St. Luke's Hospital with minor injuries.

The Fairhaven Police continue to investigate the cause of the wreck.

How Does Massachusetts PIP Coverage Help After a Fairhaven, MA Crash?

Massachusetts requires motor vehicle insurance policies to include Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage. PIP generally pays reasonable medical expenses and certain lost wages regardless of who was at fault, with coverage of at least $8,000 per person under Massachusetts law.

PIP can cover necessary medical, hospital, nursing, and related expenses incurred within two years after an accident. It may also provide benefits for qualifying wage losses, generally subject to limits set by state law. Because PIP is designed to provide benefits without requiring proof of fault, an injured person may look to applicable PIP coverage while a separate liability claim is evaluated.

Massachusetts also uses a comparative negligence system for claims based on fault. Under this system, a person's damages may be reduced according to their share of fault, and recovery is barred when that person's negligence is greater than 51 percent.
