Waltham, MA (June 26, 2026) – One person was taken to hospital early Wednesday morning, June 24, after a wreck on Weston Street that involved two vehicles.

Waltham Police and fire crews responded around 12:00 a.m. to the area of 384 Weston Street after multiple 911 callers reported hearing the sound of a collision. Emergency units arrived to find an Audi sedan with front-end damage and a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

One person was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, while another was evaluated at the scene. A tow truck was called to remove the damaged Audi.

The cause remains under investigation.

What Steps Should Drivers Take When a Crash Cause Is Still Under Investigation in Waltham, MA?

When police say a crash cause remains under investigation, drivers and injured parties should still preserve whatever evidence they can access early on, since vehicle damage patterns, debris fields, and even nearby surveillance footage from businesses can disappear within days.

Massachusetts requires drivers to file an accident report with the Registry of Motor Vehicles when a crash results in injury or more than $1,000 in property damage, a step separate from any police investigation that may still be ongoing.

People injured in crashes where fault has not yet been determined commonly face a difficult waiting period, since insurance companies may delay settlement offers until a police report is finalized, and that delay can stretch out medical bill collections in the meantime.

Massachusetts law gives injured drivers three years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury lawsuit, which means an open investigation does not shrink that window, but it can affect how quickly a claim moves forward. Evidence from the scene can be used by a car accident lawyer to help reconstruct a strong case before insurance adjusters form their own conclusions.

At Fiorentino Legal, P.C., we know that  waiting on that investigation to conclude can bring up many doubts for car accident victims. Our team can look closely at the specific facts of your situation and help you understand what your possible next legal steps may be under Massachusetts law.
