What Should Families Know After a School Bus Crash in Northbridge, MA?

After a school bus crash, families may have questions about medical treatment, insurance coverage, and who may be responsible for resulting losses. The circumstances of the crash and the roles of the people or organizations involved can affect what legal options may be available.

Medical records can be particularly useful when a student or other passenger reports symptoms after a crash. Emergency evaluations, diagnostic testing, follow-up appointments, prescriptions, and other treatment can create documentation of medical expenses and the care received.

Information about the bus and roadway may also be relevant. Photographs of the bus, surrounding roadway, river, traffic signs, and other conditions can help preserve evidence. Witness accounts and available video may provide additional information about what happened before the bus left the roadway.

School transportation records may also become relevant when reviewing a crash. Information about the bus, driver, route, maintenance, and other available records may help provide context for the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Families should also keep track of expenses that may result from an injury. Medical bills, transportation costs, missed work by a parent or guardian, and other documented expenses may be relevant when evaluating potential losses.

Insurance coverage can require additional review after a school bus crash. The policies available and the parties involved may affect what coverage could potentially apply to medical expenses and other losses.

A bus accident lawyer can review the available crash information, medical records, transportation records, and insurance information to explain what legal options may apply.
