A person injured after being struck by a vehicle in Kingston, MA, may be able to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost income, and other losses when another party may be legally responsible. The amount and types of compensation available can depend on the injuries, financial losses, insurance coverage, and other circumstances involved.
Medical records are often a starting point when documenting the effects of a serious injury. Emergency care, hospital treatment, diagnostic testing, medications, follow-up appointments, and rehabilitation can all result in expenses that may be included in a potential claim. Keeping these records together can help provide a clear record of the treatment received and costs involved.
Those medical expenses may be accompanied by lost income if the injury affects a person's ability to work. Pay stubs, employer records, missed workdays, reduced hours, and other employment documents may help show how the injury affected the person's earnings.
Along with financial documentation, evidence from the crash may help show what happened. Photographs, witness information, available video footage, vehicle details, medical records, and official crash documentation can provide useful information when reviewing a potential claim.
Insurance coverage may also affect what compensation could be available. A personal injury attorney can review applicable policies, communications with insurers, medical records, and financial documentation to explain what coverage and legal options may apply.
