Springfield, MA – Moped Rider Seriously Injured in Crash at Florence St & Hancock St

Springfield, MA (May 8, 2026) – A moped rider suffered serious injuries after a crash at the intersection of Florence and Hancock Streets in Springfield's Hill-McKnight neighborhood on Thursday, May 7, at around 8 a.m. A pickup truck and a moped collided at the intersection, prompting an emergency response.

The Springfield Police and emergency units transported the injured rider to Baystate Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The condition of the pickup truck driver was not released. Authorities have not confirmed what caused the accident.
