Toddler Airlifted After Dog Bite Near West Dennis Beach in Dennis, MA

Dennis, MA (July 26, 2026) – A 1-year-old girl was flown to an off-Cape pediatric trauma center after suffering serious injuries in a dog bite incident near West Dennis Beach on Friday evening, July 24.

Emergency crews responded shortly before 6:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a dog bite. Responders found the child suffering injuries to her face and head and began providing assistance.

Because of the severity of the injuries, a medical helicopter was requested. The child was transported by ambulance to a nearby landing zone before being airlifted to a pediatric trauma center outside of Cape Cod for specialized care.

Authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances surrounding the incident or details about the dog involved.
