Tractor-Trailer Crash Leaves One Hurt on I-90 in Palmer, MA

September 10, 2026

Palmer, MA (September 10, 2026) – One truck driver was injured after two tractor-trailers collided on Interstate 90 in Palmer on Wednesday, September 9. The crash occurred around 9:15 a.m. near mile marker 66 on the westbound side of the highway.

Massachusetts State Police said troopers responded after several 911 reports of the collision. First responders found one tractor-trailer in the middle of the roadway, blocking all westbound lanes. The truck was also leaking fluid and had caught fire.

Palmer EMS transported one of the truck drivers to a hospital with minor injuries. All westbound lanes were closed after the crash and reopened around noon.

The Massachusetts State Police are investigating what caused the collision.

We hope the injured truck driver makes a full recovery.

Who Can Be Held Liable After a Tractor-Trailer Crash in Palmer, MA?

After a tractor-trailer crash in Palmer, liability may fall on the truck driver, trucking company, maintenance provider, cargo-loading company, or another party whose actions contributed to the collision. Who may be held responsible depends on how the crash occurred.

When a truck driver is working for a trucking company, the employment relationship may affect liability. A company may be legally responsible for certain actions taken by an employee while performing job-related duties.

Under Massachusetts law, you may still recover compensation if you were partly at fault, as long as your share of responsibility is not greater than the combined fault of the other responsible parties. Any award may be reduced by your percentage of fault.

Because commercial trucks may be covered by multiple insurance policies, identifying the coverage that applies can be an important part of the claim. Policy limits and the number of businesses involved may affect the compensation available.

If responsibility is disputed, evidence can help show how the collision happened. Police reports, photographs, video footage, electronic truck data, driver logs, and maintenance records may help clarify the actions of the parties involved.

Depending on your losses, compensation may include medical expenses, lost income, future treatment costs, reduced earning ability, property damage, and pain and suffering.

As the claim moves forward, a truck accident lawyer in Massachusetts can review the crash, applicable insurance coverage, and any disputes that arise. An attorney can also communicate with insurers and explain the legal options available to you.
