What Should You Do After a Car Accident in Norfolk, MA?
After a crash in Norfolk, the most important step is to stay at the scene, check for injuries, and call for help immediately. In Massachusetts, drivers involved in a crash resulting in injury are legally required to remain at the scene and report the accident to police. If someone fails to do so, it can result in criminal charges. Seeking medical care right away also matters, since delayed medical visits can complicate both your health outcome and any potential legal claim.
Crashes on busy corridors across Norfolk County can lead to serious harm, such as spinal injuries, broken bones, traumatic brain injuries, and internal damage that may not show up immediately after the collision.
A car accident attorney can help you sort through the aftermath. A lawyer can review whether liability is clear, identify what documentation may strengthen a claim, and explain what options could be available depending on the specifics of your situation. Legal guidance can be especially valuable when injuries are serious or when the cause of the accident is disputed.
