Woman Hurt After Escalator Accident at Davis Station in Somerville, MA 

Somerville, MA (August 2, 2026) – A woman was injured after her clothing became caught in an MBTA escalator at Davis Station in Somerville on Friday morning, July 31.

The MBTA said the woman fell shortly after boarding the escalator around 7:00 a.m., and part of her clothing became trapped in the mechanism as she reached the bottom. Another rider who was ahead of her activated the emergency stop button and helped free her from the escalator.

MBTA personnel and the Somerville Fire Department responded to the station. The woman was transported to a hospital for treatment of a hand injury caused by the fall.

The incident remains under investigation.
