Dedham, MA (June 3, 2026) – An infant and two adults were hurt in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Vincent Road and Alpena Avenue in Dedham. The collision was reported shortly after 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3.
One vehicle was traveling on Vincent Road when a second vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign on Alpena Avenue and struck it. The drivers of both vehicles and the infant who was inside one of the cars were all taken to area hospitals for evaluation.
The conditions of all three had not been confirmed at the time of this report. No names or ages were released following the accident.
Authorities continue looking into the wreck.
We hope the infant and both adults make full recoveries.
What Should Parents Do After an Infant Is Hurt in a Car Crash in Dedham, MA?
When an infant is hurt in a vehicle collision in Dedham, the two most important immediate steps are seeking thorough medical care for the baby and contacting a personal injury attorney as early as possible.
Infants cannot communicate pain or discomfort the way older children and adults can, which makes a comprehensive medical evaluation especially critical after any crash involving a young child. Also, in Massachusetts, claims on behalf of injured minors follow specific legal procedures that differ from standard adult claims, and getting legal guidance early helps ensure that no critical steps or deadlines are missed.
On the medical side, parents should ensure the infant receives a full evaluation even when no visible injuries are present at the scene. Babies involved in crashes, particularly those involving rollovers or impacts with fixed objects, can suffer internal injuries, head trauma, and stress to developing bones and tissue that may not produce obvious symptoms for hours or longer. Keeping detailed records of every medical visit, test, prescription, and behavioral change observed in the days following the crash creates a record that reflects the true impact of the injuries and supports any legal claim that may follow.
On the legal side, parents should be aware that any settlement reached on behalf of a minor in Massachusetts requires court approval to ensure the child's long-term interests are fully protected. This requirement exists specifically to prevent injured children from being undercompensated, particularly in cases where the full consequences of early childhood injuries may not be understood for months or years.
An attorney can guide parents through this process and help ensure that any resolution reached accounts for both the immediate and future needs of the child, including projected medical care and developmental considerations.
If your child was hurt in a car accident, legal support can help you understand what steps may apply. A Massachusetts car accident lawyer can review the crash details, identify who may be responsible, and explain the deadlines that affect your case.
