Landscaping Truck Driver Causes Head-On Crash on Rte 1 in Saugus, MA

Saugus, MA (July 3, 2026) – A landscaping truck driver was hurt after an item fell inside his vehicle and caused a head-on collision with a Logan Express bus near the Essex Street ramp on Route 1.

The wreck happened as the truck was exiting the highway. When the item fell to the floor of the cab, the driver was unable to brake in time and struck the oncoming bus head-on. The truck driver suffered facial injuries and was taken for treatment, though his injuries were not considered serious.

The bus driver was also transported to a hospital following the collision. 

The wreck remains under review by the Saugus Police.
