Man Injured in House Fire on Harris St in Randolph, MA

July 15, 2026

Randolph, MA (July 15, 2026) – A man was hurt early Wednesday, July 15, after a fire broke out at a single-family home on Harris Street. Flames were visible coming from the roof of the home just after 3:30 a.m.

The man, believed to be in his 90s, was taken to a hospital and was conscious at the time. Randolph Fire Department said the heat and humidity added extra challenges for emergency units working to bring the flames under control.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed. Initial findings point to a faulty spotlight on the back of the home as a possible source, though the exact cause is still being looked into.

We hope the injured man is on the road to a full recovery soon.

Who Is Liable for an Electrical Fire in Randolph, MA?

When a fire is traced to a faulty electrical component, such as a spotlight or exterior wiring, liability can fall on a property owner, a contractor who installed the fixture, or the manufacturer of a defective part, depending on what caused the malfunction.

People hurt in house fires tend to face burns, smoke inhalation, or breathing problems, and older adults can be especially vulnerable to these injuries. Recovery can involve hospital stays, ongoing treatment, and time away from daily routines while healing.

Residential fire claims in Massachusetts typically involve more than one insurance policy, depending on who is found responsible. A property owner's homeowner's policy may come into play, and if a contractor or manufacturer is found at fault, their liability or product insurance could also be involved. Working through multiple policies can take time, and settlement amounts often depend on how clearly the cause of the fire can be established.

Building a strong claim after a house fire depends heavily on preserving the right documentation early. Photos of the damage, records from any fire investigation, and details about recent electrical work or repairs to the home can all help establish what happened. Medical records showing the extent of injuries, along with receipts for temporary housing or other fire-related costs, are also useful for supporting a claim.

A Massachusetts personal injury lawyer can help those hurt in a residential fire into what caused it and who may be responsible. An attorney can explain what types of compensation may be available for medical bills and other related costs tied to the fire.
