Motorcyclist Airlifted After Crash on Rte 2 in Shelburne, MA

Shelburne, MA (July 24, 2026) – A motorcyclist was hurt on Thursday afternoon, July 23, after colliding with a box truck at the end of State Street, where it meets Route 2. The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. Emergency units from several nearby towns responded to the scene.

According to Shelburne Falls Fire District, the motorcycle sustained extensive front-end damage in the collision. The rider may have a head injury. Responders reportedly faced a significant language barrier while trying to communicate with him at the scene.

The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to a landing zone on Dragon Hill Road and then airlifted to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for further treatment. Shelburne Police, Charlemont Police, Conway Police, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, and Colrain EMS all assisted at the scene.

The wreck remains under investigation.
