Why Do Multi-Vehicle Crashes Complicate Injury Claims in Acton, MA?

When more than two vehicles are involved in a crash, to sort out who caused what becomes far more complicated than in a typical two-car collision.

Injuries in multi-vehicle crashes usually vary widely from one person to the next, and can range from minor strains to more serious trauma depending on where each vehicle sat in the chain of impact. Because injuries can differ so much between vehicles, medical documentation for each person involved becomes especially important in sorting out individual claims.

Massachusetts' no-fault insurance system means each driver typically turns to their own PIP coverage first, but when three or more vehicles are involved, insurers may dispute how the chain of events unfolded and try to shift blame between drivers.

A car accident lawyer can become useful here, since they can help reconstruct the sequence of impacts through police reports and witness accounts to determine which driver's insurance should bear responsibility.
