Two Hurt as Vehicle Rolls Over on Rte 128 in Waltham, MA

July 10, 2026

Waltham, MA (July 10, 2026) – Two people were hurt on Thursday afternoon, July 9, after a two-vehicle collision on Route 128 North caused one of the vehicles to roll over.

The collision happened around 3 p.m. near Exit 44A, just before the off-ramp. Waltham Fire and emergency units were sent to the highway to help those hurt and manage the scene.

Both people involved were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Traffic slowed along the northbound lanes as crews worked to clear the vehicles from the road.

What led the two vehicles together has not been made public. The cause of the rollover remains under active review.

We hope both people recover fully from their injuries.

Injury Risks That Result From Rollover Crashes in Waltham, MA

Rollovers tend to produce more serious injuries than standard two-vehicle collisions, since occupants can be thrown against the interior of the vehicle or, if unrestrained, ejected entirely.

People involved in a rollover can face fractures, spinal injuries, or head trauma that require extended hospital stays and follow-up care. Even occupants who walk away from the scene can develop symptoms like nerve pain or reduced mobility in the days that follow, which makes early medical documentation important for anyone hurt in this kind of collision.

Massachusetts follows a modified comparative negligence rule, which means that a person can still recover damages as long as they are found less than 51 percent at fault, though their compensation is reduced by their share of responsibility.

Because Massachusetts is also a no-fault state, injured drivers typically look first to their own Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage before pursuing a claim against another driver, and sorting out how PIP interacts with a third-party claim is usually where a Massachusetts car accident lawyer becomes useful, particularly if a rollover raises questions about vehicle speed or road conditions at the time of the crash.

At Fiorentino Legal, P.C., we have helped Massachusetts families sort through these kinds of insurance and liability questions after serious roadway crashes. If you or someone you know was hurt in this collision or a similar one, our team can walk you through what a claim might involve for your case.
