Electric Scooter Rider Flees After Striking Child in Cambridge, MA

Cambridge, MA (July 28, 2026) – Cambridge Police are searching for an electric scooter rider who struck and seriously hurt a 9-year-old child on Vassar Street then left the scene.

According to police, on Monday, July 27, the rider struck the child and immediately fled the scene after the collision. A photo released by police shows a white man wearing a teal green T-shirt and black shorts, with his hair pulled back in a bun and what appears to be a face tattoo.

No name has been released for the child, and further details about the extent of the injuries were not immediately available.

Police continue to search for the rider seen in the released photo.
